Higher education, Research, Peru, Sustainable developmentAbstract
Introduction: Research in Peruvian higher education has shown sustained growth in both public and private institutions; however, gaps in governance, funding, and resources still persist. Objective: To analyze the development of scientific research in Peruvian higher education. Materials and Methods: A narrative or literature review was conducted addressing the role of research seedbeds, formative research, scientific production, teaching performance, and the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and SciELO were used. The search strategy included equations constructed with standardized MeSH terms linked through Boolean operators. Development: An increasing connection between academic training and research practices was identified. Likewise, the growth of research seedbeds as extracurricular spaces proved to be an alternative to promote research, supported by active and engaged teaching. Conclusions: Research seedbeds, together with updated and committed teaching, are essential to strengthening a sustainable research culture with academic and scientific impact, focused on enhancing the sustainability of national resources.Downloads
